GT elMAST - Elevated Viewing Mast:

Geomatic Technologies (GT) Asset Inspection and Mapping System (AIMS) offers the Rail/Power/Road industries a product designed to map and inspect linear assets from network resources (e.g. by means of hy-rail, road or helicopter).

GT AIMS is an internationally recognised infrastructure survey and analysis tool that integrates GPS and inertial positioning sensors with camera, laser and infrastructure data entry forms.

GT AIMS is comprised of Field and Office systems, the Field component is responsible for capturing data and controlling all the devices while the Office component manages the integration of field data (e.g. asset infrastructure and network topology can be extracted and formatted to client-specific requirements).

GT licence AIMS to rail utilities including Railcorp NSW (where AIMS technology underpins the award winning Mechanised Track Patrol work process) and RENFE (Spanish Railways).

Recent Projects that have been successfully completed using GT AIMS configurations include:

  1. South Australian rural power-poles survey on behalf of ETSA
  2. Victorian rail track and operations assets audit on behalf of the Department of Infrastructure
  3. Sydney School Speed Zones on behalf of RTA (NSW)
  4. Melbourne tram track grade survey on behalf of Arup (VIC)
  5. Major Streetlight audit throughout Queensland on behalf of Ergon Energy
  6. Victorian rail network structure gauge survey

Related AIMS modules that are supplied under licence to GT customers include:

  1. AIMS Kalman – used to integrate AIMS field sensor data to generate a continuous asset alignment in three dimensions
  2. AIMS Curve – used to define straight, curve and transition components
  3. AIMS Laser – used to process field laser data for encroachments and corridor capacity modelling
  4. AIMS Lite – used to record digital field imagery for geo-referencing against an existing alignment

Geomatic Technologies can provide advice on how to best use GT AIMS to bring tangible benefits to your asset management business.
